Stellar Reviews: April 2018

They say April showers bring May flowers, and the Moonrise certainly was showered with praise from our happy guests last month! Wedding hosts and guests were thrilled by our unique event spaces and out-of-this-world service, while animal lovers were delighted to stay at the best pet-friendly hotel in St. Louis. Check out some of our favorite stellar reviews from April!

“Lovely, kitschy, fun hotel” 5 of 5 stars

“My boyfriend and I spend just one night at the Moonrise when we visited St. Louis to see a show at Delmar Hall. We were greeted with a cocktail. I knew right away it was my kind of place because of the dog-guest greeting bowls with treats for Fido. The room was spacious, modern, and clean. The hotel was space-themed with the owner’s toy and memorabilia collection on display. The roof-top bar had planets and stars hanging from the ceiling. The hotel restaurant was a little pricey, but breakfast was delicious.

Hotel was a three minute walk from the Delmar and was surrounded by great restaurants. Free self-parking in the back was a downtown bonus.”

“A wonderful wedding venue” 5 of 5 stars

“A very cool/hip hotel- nice welcome cocktail- rooms were quiet and well appointed. Rooftop bar was open and roomy. Much better wine selection than expected in the home of Bud!!

The catering for the wedding was very well done- ambiance very fit well for a small wedding – food was tasty and the wait staff very efficient.
Made for a great day!!”

“Totally Rad” 5 of 5 stars

“Primarily chose this hotel due to its location – next to the Pageant. Really convenient, free parking, and nice neighborhood. Little shops and good eats down the street. Hotel was really nice, clean, and modern. Bed was comfortable, and staff were uber friendly. Nothing bad to say at all.”

“Better than ever on our second visit” 5 of 5 stars

“If I could only use one word to describe this hotel it would be: easy. From the welcome cocktail when we checked in on Friday night (Mary also gave us a coupon for two comp drinks when I mentioned I was in town for my birthday – thanks Mary!) to the spotless and very comfy King room, the amazing convenience of having the best night life in the city right at your front door and the Metro at the back door for trips to Clayton, downtown, or the airport, and the gorgeous views and friendly staff at the Twilight Bar on the roof, it was almost too easy to have a good time on our mini-vacation! Only thing I could wish for would be free coffee in the lobby in the mornings (there are coffee makers in the room – but yuck!). Thankfully there are three really great coffee shops and a diner within a block – but dashing downstairs for a quick cup while you get ready to start your day would certainly be a nice touch. Bottom line – I don’t want to imagine a trip to the Lou without a reservation at the Moonrise.”

“Awesome Hotel and Unique” 5 of 5 stars

“I just loved how chill the hotel is. Great vibe and everyone is so nice and helpful. Very unique and great bar! I love the pet-friendly aspect too. Def will be staying here anytime I go to St Louis.”

“Excellent boutique hotel in a great location” 5 of 5 stars

“Moonrise is our go-to hotel when visiting our daughter at WASHU! The hotel is located near all the delicious eateries and activities in the area, no need to worry about parking.”

“Great hotel near school and restaurants” 5 of 5 stars

“Moonrise hotel is only 10 min walk to Washu, convenient to shops and restaurants. The room is very clean and comfortable. We got upgraded to the suite, which was surprising. The staff are very friendly, check-in and out took only a min. Highly recommend this hotel!”

Quirky in a good way 5 of 5 stars

“Hotel is filled with clever and fun references to the moon and space travel including a rotating moon on top. Interesting restaurants nearby and within walking distance of Washingon University”

“Perfect 1st Anniversary Night out” 5 of 5 stars

My wife and I stayed at the Moonrise for our first anniversary. Neither of us had been before and we were both blown away by how fun and quirky the moon themes, i.e.: cabinets of trinkets, paintings, framed pictures on every wall, etc. were. The rooftop bar was a lot of fun and brunch at the hotel restaurant, the Eclipse, the next morning was excellent! Great location on the Delmar Loop with tons of restaurants, bars, and entertainment easily within walking distance. We had a wonderful time!

“Nice touches” 5 of 5 stars

“This hotel was excellent. It had great touches that were sweet surprises – literally. Taking the theme of the hotel and local history, there were homemade moon pies. A nod to the hotel and the fact that the moon pie eating record was in St Louis.”

Bonus: Wedding Wire Review!

“Team Moonrise was amazing. Kevin made sure every last detail of the day was perfect. Jonathan and Amy helped me organize and coordinate everything from the menu to hotel rooms for my guests, nearly all of whom were coming from out of state (including me!) We had a tight budget and I was anxious about sticking with it, but never once did I feel pressured or “up-sold.” I just told them what I was trying to do and how much I had to pay for it, and they helped me find a way to make it happen. The wedding and reception both took place in the Twilight Room. Everything was beautiful and wonderful, the food was delicious and plentiful, and I couldn’t be happier. Not only that, but Moonrise was extremely accommodating to one of my bridesmaids who uses a wheelchair. The entire hotel was very accessible, but they made sure to have our reception floor plan set up in a way that was easily maneuverable for her. These are truly good people with a fantastic venue. I cannot recommend them enough.”
