We went out of 2017 with a bang here at the Moonrise! Between all the wonderful weddings and celebrations in our unique event spaces and the awesome guests that came to stay with us, we’d say 2017 at this boutique hotel was pretty great. And based on all the stellar reviews Moonrise visitors left in December, we’re not the only ones that think so! Check out these reviews that had us smiling all the way into the new year.
“‘Over the moon’ for Moonrise!” 5 of 5 stars
“Sorry if that title has already been used haha.
Stayed here for business for two nights Loved the “moon” theme with vintage space and toy memorabilia everywhere. I was checked in by my “commander” Jack, and he explained everything thoroughly. Too cute. Super modern place but very comfortable at the same time. The room was spacious and I particularly loved the white noise machine which allowed me to get a good night’s sleep. It also looked like the alarm clock/radio could be paired with a phone which is great for the technologically inclined (e.g. not me!). Little funky touches abounded like a drain stop in the sink that said “ka-boom!” and toilet paper wrapped in a pretty floral covering! The bed was really comfortable too. I could have used a little more control over the pressure in the rain shower but It was fine.
The location is ideal on Delmar which is filled with tons of restaurants and shops, even an independent bookstore. Like any revitalized area just be aware as there are a good number of “assertive” pan handlers. The business meeting rooms were fine and met the technology requirements. Wi-Fi easy to access- I would suggest they have a password requirement though as I was hesitant to use the Wi-Fi personally. It did make it easy to just hop online though. The breakfast and lunch we were served was tasty – and the morning coffee nice and strong which was awesome.
It is always a little stressful traveling for business so the fact that I didn’t have to think twice about any issues with my room or the hotel itself took some of that away. So I would definitely stay here personally and recommend it for personal travel as well; The rooftop bar seems like it would be cool on a warm night, the bar itself was closed for a private event so didn’t really get to check that out. Security is good too- you need a room key for the elevators and to get on the floors.
Overall excellent stay – I hope we can stay here again next year!”

“Great for College Visit” 5 of 5 stars
“My son and I recently stayed at this property for two days while he toured Washington University campus. What a nice hotel! We enjoyed the themed areas and memorabilia paying tribute to the hotel property’s name. The location is a convenient walking distance to the campus and right on the Delmar Blvd with the “walk of fame”. Such a cool neighborhood with many restaurants to enjoy. The hotel offers a nice rooftop view and what appears to be a bar/social area that would be nice in better weather. Rooms were well designed and equipped. Staff is friendly. Parking was plentiful in a gated area just behind the property. Only item of note as that we were cautioned to not venture too far behind the property beyond the parking area- we were advised to “go straight or to the right” as you leave the property in order to stay in better areas (crime). We did not encounter any issues, but the area does seem to board itself up around sundown. If my son ends up attending WashU, we will return!”

“You have to come to the Moonrise! It is a bit pricey, but you have to experience it for a special occasion. It is quite an experience. The rooms are really fun! Totally worth the cost, and so many things to do in the area. You won’t be sorry you booked here!”

“Awesome boutique hotel! Hotel was very clean, restaurant good and staff was amazing. We were there for a 21st BDay celebration and everyone working this past weekend was so accomodating to our large group and helped make the event even more special. Everything from a welcome drink, to finding seating in the restaurant for 17+ people was much appreciated. Highly recommened and would love to return once it’s warmer out to enjoy the rooftop!”
“Stellar Stay” 5 of 5 stars
“This is a fun, quirky, comfortable place. Best loaner robes I’ve encountered yet. The bed was the perfect blend of firm but cozy. We’ll be back—and next time with our dog.”
