After seemingly endless months of dark, cold, snowy days, spring is finally arriving in St. Louis! The official first day of the season is less than a week away and the warmer, longer days are already here to relieve all of our winter blues.
We’re especially excited given that our stellar boutique hotel is conveniently located in one of the best areas of the city for experiencing the season. From Forest Park to the Delmar Loop, we’re positively surrounded by exciting events and activities. If you’re in search of fun ways to fill the longer days, these are some of our top recommendations.
Midtown Farmer’s Market: April 20 – November 9
Lovers of fresh, local produce and artisanal products know that one of the best parts of spring is the reemergence of the farmers markets. Lucky for us, we get to enjoy one every Saturday just a few short blocks from our own front door! The historic Midtown Farmers Market in The Loop is always bursting with fresh-from-the-farm foods, hand-made goods and live music.
Sip Beneath The Moon at our Rooftop Terrace Bar
It’s almost the best time of the year at The Moonrise – rooftop season! We’re gearing up to open our outdoor bar up for the season on the first weekend of April (weather permitting) and we can’t wait. If you’ve never enjoyed our handcrafted drinks and out-of-this-world food beneath our spinning man-made moon, you truly don’t know what you’re missing. It’s the perfect spot to spend an afternoon in the sunshine or an evening in the moonlight. Keep an eye out for announcements on our opening day party and our new spring and summer menu!
Spring For Strays Rooftop Paw-ty: May 11
As the most pet-friendly hotel in St. Louis, this is one of our favorite events of the whole year – a rooftop party with a drag queen show, silent and live auctions, and drink specials all in support of homeless and abused animals! It’s an afternoon of fun and frolic in the sun – what’s not to love? You can purchase your tickets in advance, donate items for auction or become a sponsor of the event on the Stray Rescue of Saint Louis website.
Take a Ride on The Loop Trolley
What better way to spend a beautiful day than by taking a trolley ride through The Loop and Forest Park? The 2.2-mile fixed route track runs between the University City Library on Delmar and the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park. So you can enjoy the weather in the natural beauty of the park, get a little culture in the museum, then roll down to Delmar for all the food, drinks and shopping you can handle before landing at the Moonrise. Sounds like a pretty perfect day if you ask us! Check out the route, fares and schedule on the trolley website.
St. Louis Earth Day Festival: April 27-28
Speaking of Forest Park, this spring will also bring the St. Louis Earth Day Festival back for two full days of eco-friendly fun. Considering that The Moonrise is a green hotel that places a high priority on sustainability, this annual festival is one of our favorites. Eat and drink delicious food from Green Dining Alliance certified restaurants, listen to live music and enjoy performances from local dance and music groups. Naturally, there will be plenty of opportunities to learn how to better practice sustainability every day, too!
Even on an average day, you’ll have a hard time running out of things to see and do when you stay at the best boutique hotel in St. Louis. Are you ready to spring into some good times with us? Book your stay today!
