The Moonrise Hotel and its award-winning Eclipse Restaurant re-open on April 28th, 2021! The Eclipse restaurant will now be lead by the dynamic Chef Donald Cross, known professionally as Chef DC.
Chef DC briefly studied at L’Cole Culinaire in St. Louis, Missouri but left in favor of learning from Chefs in the field. DC’s most significant influence was his mentor, University City native Chef KT Ayers. DC has worked in kitchens in Miami, New York City, New Orleans, Houston, and St. Louis, gaining experience in classic French, Italian, Asian, Middle Eastern, and southern cuisines. He served as a Sous Chef at the Copper Pig, and his first Executive Chef position was at the Purple Martin in south St. Louis. DC started at Eclipse in 2018 as the Executive Sous Chef.
DC will be the Executive Chef of Eclipse Restaurant for the re-opening in April of 2021. DC has a Caribbean heritage and will use his background and experience to push the boundaries of Caribbean food with fusion flares.
