Like Halley’s Comet, big milestones don’t come around too often. St. Louis’ 250th birthday is fast approaching, and celebrations are popping up all over the city. Among these celebrations is CBS Local’s picks for the best spots in STL250’s “Cakeway to the West” contest. Your favorite St. Louis boutique hotel counts itself among the nominees for Local Favorite!
What does this mean? The Moonrise is among a large group of favorite spots from around the city, including restaurants, venues and shops, in the Local Favorites category. Other groups include Landmark Sites, Heritage & Culture, The Great Outdoors and Innovation. STL250 will be creating 250 fiberglass birthday cakes to display at different locations throughout the St. Louis region. The top 50 vote getters throughout each of these five categories will be guaranteed a cake, and the remaining 200 will be selected by STL250.
What can you do? Head over to CBS Local and vote for Moonrise every day until January 3, 2014. You can track how we’re doing on the Leaderboard, and watch as we skyrocket towards the top. Be sure to encourage your friends and family to vote as well. The cake winners will be announced January 6, 2014.
